Adoptapark Scheme
& Course Designs
STAG members will
monitor the condition of the
courses on a regular basis under our "Adoptapark Scheme"
and problems will be listed on the Club WebSite.
Repairs will be actioned as required.
Three Course
Designs
-
At Dawsholm and Linn
Parks the former
Nature Trails
have been regenerated
into the courses.
Where appropriate additional markers have been added.
The majority of control sites are solid white stone
posts with a distinctive red top.
The historic nature of
Glasgow Green and Kelvingrove Park allow these areas to present an orienteering challenge without the need for additional posts. Control sites ask questions based on information contained on statues and monuments.
Within the remaining 11
parks, wooden posts have
been specially installed at agreed sites.
Each post carries a number, which corresponds to
the number given on the map, and a code letter is
shown on the back of the post.
Simply check the code number, if it agrees with
the number on your map, you are at the correct site.
Record code letter on your control card.
Disclaimer
The courses have been
planned in accordance with
normal orienteering practice.
However, as it is not possible to keep a constant
watch on the Parks, users must accept that
neither STAG nor Glasgow City Council
can be held responsible for any accidents or
