Pollok Country Park Family Day 7th August 2010

What started as a trickle of interest turned into a torrent by the mid-afternoon.

For several years, STAG has threatened to be involved with this venture and at last we managed to attend.

Clashing with the Scottish 6 Day International Festival every second year has always been an excuse but after to-day I reckon that perhaps giving Day 6 a miss has to be seriously considered.

Being a late addition “our pitch” wasn’t ideally located but still resulted in over 40 folk, mostly Juniors having umpteen goes at the Electronic 9 Tree Wood arranged on site. The competition was fierce. The vast majority kept running & running trying to beat their time and not being content with their position on the huge results board.

Many thanks to Scott, Viv & Brodie who took over in the afternoon and allowed me to sit in the sun for an hour.

So for 2011, I reckon a location just to the side of the Bridge would be more productive or as I drove out seriously thought about the raised areas between the road & Car Park @ the Burrell Collection.

Thanks to Stevie & Marilyn for including us in the project.
