Busy wee event !

Thanks once again for all your support.

We do hope to see as many of you as possible @ Drumpellier CP next Monday Night.

Probably the “Darkest venue” to date !
13 control Cross-Country Course (you visit controls in the order shown on the map) awaits you.
Map was updated last week & the Council continue to remove the masses of Rhododendrons but the little darlings are already regenerating.

Unfortunately the presence of the Highland Cattle in the southern fields do reduce the useable area. Weather forecast seems reasonable (cross your fingers) but will be rather soggy underfoot!

Courses close 8.30pm.

Dawsholm Park could well be described as ‘the nature lover’s park’ as there is much of interest to the nature enthusiast here. Large areas of the park have been left in a natural state.

STAG first used this park in 1999 for a Night Event and it proved to be a resounding success.
The former nature trail has been converted into the permanent orienteering course and one can expect to take approximately 40 minutes to walk the whole course.
A tricky venue despite its relatively small size.
Course checked October 2008. 100% ok.
Rhododendron clearing in operation September 2008. Posts need to be repainted hopefully Winter 2008.

Park History:

72 acres in area.
Significant wildlife including grey squirrels.
Area left in natural state.
Woodland predominately oak and beech.
Kelvin Walkway accessible from NE corner of park.
Play area.

Bounded by Temple Rd., Dalsholm Rd., River Kelvin and Bearsden Rd. (A81).
