STAG Autumn Evening Event 1 Thursday 11th August 2011

Thank-you for coming along to STAG’s 1st Autumn Evening Event. Your support is much appreciated as was the assistance from Tobi, Simon, John & Thomas to bring in controls.

Hope to see you all at Pollok CP next Thursday evening

STAG’s first wee Autumn event revisited the past but also had a “brand NEW area”.

The past because there was NO ELECTRONIC Si timing as our kit was used for Scottish 6 Days and is now being re-formatted. The good old Clipper, Control Card & O Flag made a return to an area which depending on your point of view has either been devastated or transformed over the past couple of years. Undergrowth was a small issue but this didn’t stop PW coming out on top once again !!

Map of Glasgow - Dawsholm Park MapTerrain description

Dawsholm Park could well be described as ‘the nature lover’s park’ as there is much of interest to the nature enthusiast here. Large areas of the park have been left in a natural state.

STAG first used this park in 1999 for a Night Event and it proved to be a resounding success.

The NEW permanent orienteering course consists of 10 wooden control posts & available early 2017.

A tricky venue despite its relatively small size.

Rhododendron clearance completed.

Park History:

72 acres in area.
