STAG Score 4 Sunday 30th April Faskally, Pitlochry No.569.

Firstly our sincere thanks to Roos, Ida & Erica for attending to our casualty. Casualty has been located in Perth RI & has had his shoulder reset. ESOC & STAG members have attended & are arranging for vehicle recovery.

Update 8am Monday - Grant Carstairs result now found in printing Download box. Can only assume that Fran ‘dibbed’ too fast due to noise in Hall. File now updated.

A rogue line has appeared on the Autodownload results which I shall try & remove.

Having visited the area before Easter it was clear that a good winter would have made the area more runnable. I therefore decided to avoid the more unpleasant terrain.

Entries as usual were slow but with EOD we arrived at similar numbers to the other 2017 Scores.

The next decision was either put controls out late on Saturday-thus another 170 miles to drive- or an early rise at 6:15am on the Sunday morning. The latter won.

Arriving 8:30am I dropped off Maps & CDs etc for Gerry to organise & set off to put controls out in Faskally. A little over 2 hours later we were ready for action!

Sadly Mark’s accident overshadowed a great wee event. Thanks to the person (unknown) who phoned the ambulance; Thanksvto Jonas for running back to the Scout Hall to inform me; Thanks to the girls who gave up their run- I was able to guesstimate Ida’s splits when she resumed her course; Thanks to any others who stopped to offer assistance; Thanks to Margaret, Les, Robert & Fiona who tracked Mark down & then planned the next stages of recovery & Thanks to Lynsey & Gerry for driving down to Perth to uplift Mark’s car keys then driving back to Pitlochry & back to Perth with Mark’s car.

Thanks also to Peter, Ida & Magnus who cleared the forest & allowed me to edit the times for Control 31 & finalise results.

Hope to see you all next time STAG use Faskally

Kind Regards

Terry
