STAG’s 18th Glasgow Parks Champs -Events 555, 556 & 557 - Sunday 4th Dec 2016

Results are now available here

A week has now passed and the 18th GPC has come & gone. Everything has been tidied up & all the bills paid. Thank-you so much for your support & particularly for those who have taken the time to send a “Thank-you” email to the STAG Team.
We were very pleasantly surprised by the number of Junior entrants and although on the day we were not able to offer any momento, the Club has now purchased medals for all Junior & Social participants which can be uplifted from myself either at Tay Christmas Cracker or ELO Festive Frolic or STAG Score on Sunday 8th January 2017. Similarly GPC Trophies have now been engraved and will also be available at the named events from Terry’s Car SH09 ZVT - Honda CRV {with STAG Signs on it}.

The package of Drumpellier, Tollcross & Pollok worked well as did the decision to inform you of all venues & to offer loose CDs to download which took enormous pressure off myself in particular.

STAG GPC Team 2016

Race 1 Isolated Finish - Rafaela.

Course Planner - Terry.

EOD, Computing & Download - Robin, Sheila, Lorna & Jackie.

Control Collectors

Race 2 - Bernie & Daniel Lafferty.

Race 1Drumpellier Country Park
Thanks to Dale & Drumpellier Country Park Visitor Centre Staff.
Target times of the leaders were achieved in 4 classes. Seems to have been too short for the Open, Veteran & Super Vet Men ; too long for Ultra Veteran Women.
Robin has sorted out the hiccups with the Start Times.

Race 2 Tollcross Park
Thanks to Hugh Boyle & Duncan (Visitors Centre) for all their assistance including the use of the Education Room.
New ISSOM map was well received.
Target times of the leaders were achieved in 6 classes with Open & Veteran Women just a tad too long.

Race 3 - Pollok Country Park
Thanks to Lisa, Carol & Ronnie for their assistance.
Target times of the leaders were achieved in 4 classes with 4 just too long. This was better than in 2015 where the courses were approximately 1k too short for all classes.

                                              £1155.27

Operational loss of £165.27 - This was primarily due to having 20 copies of each map available per Class per event so in fact 93 spares x 3 = 279 maps unused x 40p = £111.60. Where have all the OPEN & OPEN WOMEN gone to ?????? No representation from GUOC, SCUOC & only young Thomas from EUOC !!

Next year we just cannot afford to be so generous with accepting late entries & shall only have printed a few extra maps per Class.

Whether the event shall be in September or move back to December shall be finalised by the end of February 2017.

Once again thanks for your support.
