Everyone welcome. No previous Orienteering experience necessary.
Evidence of further misuse of our Drumpellier CP map based on the number of users / maps purchased recorded at sales point has convinced me to withdraw all our maps from this service.
The issue is simple. The map production for a local area costs between £1000 / £2000. When STAG agreed to make our maps available at a nominal cost via the BOF Website the purchaser by purchasing agreed NOT to make copies i.e. the map is for personal use. However in September & October 2019 the statistics entered indicated that once again this is being ignored and the ratio of maps / persons is problematic. The maximum ratio to encourage involvement should be 1 map to 2 people.
STAG shall consider a different approach from January 2020.
The real countdown to WOC 2022 has begun & STAG shall continue to assist as required. Our Cuningar Woodland Park Weekend Projects shall still go ahead.
Another new idea proves viable :)
22 competed this year with Ross Chalmers & Alastair Dunlop winning their respective Classes of STAG & guest respectively.
Orienteering is a sport that combines map reading and running. Competitors have to find their way between a series of checkpoints, called controls, as quickly as possible. There’s no set route between the controls, so you have to decide which way to go and then find your way there without getting lost.
