Regional level event

Explanation of Event levels

Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Activities are non competitive events used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

Provisional Du'O' Results thanks to Robin & Sheila - click here

Firstly my thanks to

-Fredrik & Arnis for proposing this New Event to add to STAG's growing portfolio

- Robin, Sheila & Keith (+ for the am help) for the computing side.

- To the Scottish 6 Days Company who very kindly offered to cover the cost of SIAC hire in this inaugural year of Du'O'

- To Arnis, Gerry, Rudi, Lynn, Lyznik, Colin & Michael Stewart for support on the day.

- To all Team Members for supporting this New Innovative Idea. The handicapping system does need some modification (perhaps the SOA Relay One does as well) but 36/36 Teams entered & also turned up on the day.

Constructive feedback is always welcome. Further comments once 21st GPC is completed tomorrow.

Although there shall be an award for the 1st 3 Teams to finish having completed their courses correctly, the DU'O' Trophy shall be decided once 'time allowances' have then been deducted from the Race time. We also hope to have special awards for Teams consisting of Husband & Wife, Mum & Dad; Brother & Sister ; Mum & Daughter ; Father & Son ; Brothers; Sisters; Grandad & Grandson etc etc but this cannot be confirmed until we know the level of entry.

In essence for every point you would receive under the SOA Relay Handicapping scheme is equivalent to a 20 seconds allowance x 2 (runs).

This event is being masterminded by Fredrik Nordvall Forsberg.

The venue for the 1st DU'O' is Queen's Park on Glasgow's South side and the results from the 2011 Race 3 of Glasgow Parks Champs are being used to calculate time allowances in conjunction with the 'Handicapping System' in use at The Scottish Relays.

There shall be a MUSTER MEETING for all Team Members @ 1:30pm to confirm very final details & procedures.

Parking on Langside Road then follow taped route & signage to Assembly. Club tents welcome.

Format shall be a Chasing Start from 2pm. so the first team over the line with all controls visited is the Winner.

Start times now available.
