STAG's Centre & Parks Initiative (CAPI) 2019
In Glasgow there are several parks within which Sports Centres are located.
It occurs to STAG that many of the users would benefit - both physically & mentally - by broadening their experiences and getting a wee bit of the healthy outdoors into their agenda.
So with the support of The Sports Council For Glasgow & Glasgow Life we shall pilot 3 opportunities to bring Orienteering to a much wider community between 1pm > 3pm on Saturday afternoons.
Saturday 26th October - Kelvingrove Park (East)
Saturday 23rd November - Bellahouston Park.
Saturday 14th December - Tollcross Park
On the day an orienteering exercise shall be available to introduce the basic skills - map symbols, setting & thumbing the map, what controls are & then participants are able to take up to 30 minutes to see how many controls they can locate.
Same format each time. Use of standard O kit - clippers & flags - starting with '9 Tree Wood' & then suggested courses
Families £5 ; Seniors (+21 years) £4 ; Students £3 ; Juniors*/Retired/Unemployed £2.
* Under 14years must be accompanied by an Adult.
