Local level event

Explanation of Event levels

Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Activities are non competitive events used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

Miscellaneous

Thank-you for expressing an interest in the 2nd staging of this type of event for STAG.

John has planned 3 courses which vary in both length & the number of controls Long Option - 20 controls Medium Option - 16 controls Short Option - 10 controls

Short is about half the distance of Long ; Medium is about one & a half times the length of Short. Condes cannot cope with calculating the lengths.

I need to know by 10am on Tuesday morning which course you wish to run. Maps are all A3 in size.

Courses are Cross-Country format with the order number shown with the Code Number in a bracket adjacent to each control circle. Loose descriptions shall be available if required. There is no available space to print them on the actual map itself.

The Event is SIAC Enabled. You must CLEAR > CHECK > Punch Start Box > complete your course > Punch Finish Box.

Attached are some pre-event notes from John who lectures @ Glasgow Caledonian University & STAG are very grateful for his initiative & enthusiasm in seeing this project grow from its birth last year.

Participants are welcome to swop maps and try a different course after downloading provided there is time available. Starts can run until 8pm but we require to have cleared up everything by 9pm so courses close at 8:30pm. STAG Indoor Orienteering Map of GCU Campus 2019
