Explanation of Event levels

Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Activities are non competitive events used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

Terry's Report

Queen's Park remains a cracking venue for orienteering however it is unclear if when those new flats are built shall parking restrictions be imposed on Langside Drive - we shall wait and see but that would be a real pain!

For many GPC Races we were based in the Greenhouse Complex in Queen's Park but this has now been closed for safety reasons. Obtaining access to the Queen's Park Pavilion was a real bonus and I was as mystified as you to see the Volleyball Games going on on the bowling green which were not listed when I made our booking.

Thanks to Joe, Davy, Ronnie and John from Glasgow Life for their help.

Fredrik's Comments

Race 2 Queen's Park
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In spite of the forecast, the weather turned into perfect running weather in time for the second race in Queen's Park. Some competitors had an initial second of confusion with the start kite appearing very rapidly after turning around the corner, but soon found their bearings again.
Winning times here were all basically within range between the planned 10 and 13 minutes.
