Local level event

Explanation of Event levels

Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Activities are non competitive events used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

Report

Our thanks and appreciation to Arnis who not only planned the courses but also surveyed & drew this New STAG Urban Map. Probably most members have no idea just how much time it takes to draw let alone survey an Urban Map but it is considerably longer than a standard 'O' Map.

The only issue we had was that someone severed the cable at 38 & I am told that Simon Beckett rescued the cable & unit from across the road. When I was passing on my way back I discovered this mindless vandalism but retied the cable, unit & flag around the tree. Why someone would do such a deed mystifies me.

So that's DP 2018/2019 done & dusted. Thanks to everyone who has supported the Series. Particular thanks to Peter, Fredrik, Arnis who like myself planned & to Gerry, our Registration King. Trophies shall be presented at STAG AGM on 27th March.

Having planned 6 of the 9 events I won't be doing this next year so am introducing the condition that no-one can plan anymore than 3 events & it will be best 8 Scores from 12 runs to count. Think it is time I scored some points for our Club as I am told I am now a Full Time 'O'thlete.
