Postbox O
Simpler orienteering courses and maps where the controls are postboxes.
We incorporate Postbox orienteering into our training activities, but since the controls are permanent, you can also run these courses at any time and as many times as you want. The courses are in SCORE format.
In 2018, 2019 and 2021, the number of controls varied across maps. Scoring was as follows: control with codes < 100 worth 10 points, between 100 and 200 worth 20 points, and > 200 worth 30 points. Most opted for the 60 minute time limit (although we suggested 40 or 20 minute options).
Toward the end of 2021, we revised the format, introducing Park-n-Postbox orienteering. Double-sided maps with a 1:10000 map for postboxes on one side, and a more detailed park map on the reverse.
